“My yoga journey began in 2007 after a major knee surgery. A friend who owned a local Iyengar Yoga studio and had witnessed my recovery struggles said "Come to yoga. I can help you". She was right. I studied under her for a couple of years before moving away. Yoga became an on and off again practice to help with physical injury and recovery.

After two knee replacements, the first in 2023, I returned to my mat to help with recovery. In early 2024, I was told I needed double shoulder replacement. In my quest to avoid surgery, yoga became a priority and has remained a priority. I am in less pain and doing more than I have been able to do in years. In 2025, I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training 10 months after my last knee surgery, with both shoulders being bone on bone and a torn rotator cuff. I practice almost everyday, there are some poses I will never be able to do and that's ok. Yoga truly is for everyone!

In 2024, I went to a Sound Bath for the first time. As soon as the instructor started to play her instruments, I felt something awaken in me. My mind and spirit had joined the journey. In 2025, I took my first sound healing workshop with her and she continues to mentor me as I grow my competency in the use of sound to help heal my body, mind and spirit and support others on their journey.

My yoga practice has evolved from being just a physical practice to recover from injury and surgeries to a much more spiritual practice, learning to connect body, mind and spirit. I continue to dive deeper into yoga philosophy, slower yoga practices, restorative practices, sound healing, mind/body connection, meditation and breathwork.

As someone who lives with PTSD and ADHD, yoga and sound have been instrumental in healing my nervous system, mind, body and spirit. In less than a year, yoga transformed me from someone who was burned out, deeply depressed, intense suicidal ideations, a very dysregulated nervous system and a broken body to someone who is thriving in all areas of my life. We are all meant to be here, we all have inherent value and we are all miracles. There is so much wonder around us, we just need to learn to slow down so we can see and experience it.”
